Details of Death
DNB - Died in a training accident at Williams Field, Arizona, about 30 miles southeast of Phoenix. While working underneath an AT-17 (SN# 42-158) training aircraft, Thomason inadvertently removed the nuts and bolts from the landing gear retracting screw bracket before provided jacks or other means of support for the aircraft. The aircraft collapsed onto Thomason, killing him instantly.
