Personal Remembrances

According to the January 1943 Historical Narrative of the Ninety-Third Bombardment Group (Heavy), T/Sgt. Robert E. Woody of the 330th Bomb Squadron, along with three other men, were killed in action on January 10, 1943 after engaging a target at Bizerta and Tunis, Tunisia. Their plane crashed just outside of Bir el Khamsa, Egypt due to navigational difficulty and fuel exhaustion. Five others were wounded on the mission.KI
